This is an example of a page. It differs from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will appear in your site's link list (in most templates). Most people start by introducing a meta page, usually called an "About" page, to showcase to potential site visitors. It could be something like this:

Hello! I'm a mailman by day, an aspiring artist the rest of my day, and this is my website. I live in the Western Province, have a cute cat named Frozen, love woodworking and are interested in carvings and ornamentation (and interests that may appeal to you here and there).

...or something like that:

XYZ was founded in 1971, and has provided many quality products to the public ever since. Headquartered in London, XYZ employs more than 2,000 people and does many great things for the community.

As a new WordPress user, you should go to Control Panel to delete this page and create new pages suitable for your content. Enjoy!
